Henthorn is Professor of History at the University of Michigan-Flint. He is the Wyatt Endowed Professor of Public History, and his research and teaching focus areas include public history and urban history. He serves as Board Chair of the Urban Renaissance Center in the Historic Civic Park Neighborhood. 

For the “Flint’s Inglorious History of [foolish] Parking Lots” tour, Cade Surface will be your guide. Urban planner, Flint history enthusiast, and quick-witted with an eye for quality design, Cade Surface is a proud homeowner in the historic Carriage Town neighborhood.

For the “Haunted Flint” tour, Flint-based actor, director, and ghost stories lover Jordan Climie will be your guide.

For the Flint Food and Beverage tours as well as Community / Economic / Housing Development tours (by special request), Emily Doerr will be your guide: Emily was born and raised in Flint, moved back in 2016, and started Flint City Bike Tours in April 2019. She has worked in Michigan’s community and economic development industry for the last 18 years and currently serves as Director of Planning and Development for the City of Flint. She has served on numerous boards for nonprofits around the city of Flint and is the owner of Queens’ Provisions (wine / beer / charcuterie shop and lounge) in Carriage Town!
