Emily Doerr was born in Flint* and after living in Mt. Pleasant, Lansing, and then Detroit for 8 years (which included opening Hostel Detroit), she moved back to Flint in 2016 to work in affordable housing development for the City of Flint and now at Metro Community Development, a nonprofit based in Flint. She recently adopted a pit/lab mix named Bentley and bought a house built in 1928 in the College Cultural Neighborhood. She loves bike riding, kayaking, and running all around Flint, and wants to show you the local culture and grit not visible in headlines.
This is Bentley.
*fun fact: Emily and her twin brother Eric were the first twins born at Hurley Hospital in 1985
